The Bonhams Group has acquired the Boston-based Skinner Auctioneers, giving it a wider reach and a global footprint. The acquisition will see the auction house adopt a new name, Bonhams Skinner. In addition to acquiring the Skinner auction house, Bonhams has acquired the Copenhagen-based Bruun Rasmussen, and acquired the Bukowskis auction house in January. The Swedish owners hoped to gain access to the Nordic region through the acquisition. The acquisition of Skinner also means that Bonhams has increased its global reach and digital footprint.
